Synopsis for "In Captivity, Part One"
Jepperd remembers being a hockey player. He recalls being good for at least one thing throughout his life which was fighting. Too good at it sometimes. He recalls being kicked off the ice for pummeling an opposing player and sitting alone in the locker room.
In the present, Jepperd continues to ride his horse and laments in the decisions he's made. He thinks back to when he first came home from the hockey game. His wife was watching a news flash of the first reports of the sickness happening. Jepperd tried to comfort her and promise here everything would be OK.
At the The Preserve, Gus is tied up with a bag over his head. Abbot walks in and tells him to get used to his new home. He informs Gus his age can't be correct since the accident was less than his age. Hybrids only began after the sickness began. They take him to the barn where he's thrown in with other hybrid children. Wendy tells him some of the hybrids can't talk as they've gone ignorant. She warns Gus that once they come back for him, that's it. He won't be back.
Jepperd returns to his house. He opens the duffel bag to see the remains of his wife inside. He sheds a tear as he speaks out loud that he'd promised to bring her home.
