- This life suits me. I never had to be a hero -- I could've just been a... crazy professor who shrank things.
- — the Atom
Sword of the Atom #4 is an issue of the series Sword of the Atom (Volume 1) with a cover date of December, 1983.
Synopsis for "Book Four: Look Homeward, Atom"
The Atom leads the revolt against Caellich, who is stabbed to death by Deraegis. Deraegis in turn is killed by Voss, a rebel, but not before the villain activates the Star Drive -- powered by the White Dwarf Star Fragment that Ray came to the Amazon for. The Atom tries to deactivate the drive but fails, and is bathed in Dwarf Star energy -- reactivating his growth mechanism. He manages to induce the Morlaidhians to abandon their city and escapes himself before it explodes, knocking him unconscious at full six-foot height. Ray Palmer is found, nursed back to health, and reunited with Jean Loring. But he now loves Princess Laethwen, and vows to find the tiny tribe in the Amazon jungle again.
