Synopsis for "Homecoming"

As he fights Stayne, Takion realizes that both are halves of the same thing and that they both come from the Source. Everything becomes clear to him, as he now knows Darkseid created Stayne, and Highfather made Takion as a contingency plan in the case of his death. Takion grabs Stayne and tries to teleport to the Source, but they arrive on Earth instead. Josh then assumes that the gateway to the Source is on Earth, hence why Highfather chose a human.

Stayne gloats to Takion, saying he's no longer human and that he should embrace his new powers with her. But Josh refuses and strikes back at her, turning her into antimatter. She reforms, threatening to merge with Takion's positive matter to destroy the city. Takion counters her by turning himself into antimatter too. Takion disassembles her energy form, but Stayne melds with him, turning Takion into a brute out of control. He resists and manages to separate from her. As the rampage continues, they destroy the rails of the subway train: Norman Kreger, who witnessed Joshua Saunder's death and was linked to Takion due to his proximity, is on board of that train, and he senses danger in time to stop the wagon before it could derail. Stepping out of the vehicle, Norman again senses some danger nearby, and he runs toward the fight taking place on the surface.

The battle continues as they blast each other on the street. Suddenly, Norman arrives at the scene and recognizes Takion. Stayne takes advantage of the distraction, kills Norman, and escapes through a portal, leaving Takion in shambles. Highfather shows up before Takion, scolding him over his failure. Izaya urges him to follow Stayne, but Josh, hurt by having another casualty over his shoulders, refuses to hear him again and turns his back on Highfather.
