Synopsis for The Spectre: "The Horrible Joy of Vengeance"

Crispus Allen's spirit wanders one of the abandoned tenement apartment once owned by the late Leonard Krieger. He finds a young couple who decide to use the apartment in order to evade their parents.

Later, Allen investigates another apartment, where he finds a pimp named Frosty Whitford assaulting one of his prostitutes and her children. He wants to exact vengeance upon him, but the rules of retribution prevent him from taking action just yet.

Crispus continues to monitor Frosty's affairs until such time that the pimp murders one of his own colleagues. Now able to tap into the power of the Spectre, he savagely attacks the criminals, sending many of them to their deaths. He takes particular care to insure that Frosty's retribution is filled with pain and torment.

Synopsis for Doctor Thirteen: "Architecture & Mortality, Part Two"

Doctor Thirteen and his daughter Traci are stuck in a cave in the mountains. There, they meet the immortal vampire Andrew Bennett. Thirteen doesn't believe that Bennett is a true vampire, but Andrew labors to prove to him the truth behind his supernatural existence.

Suddenly, Doctor Thirteen passes out. When he comes to, he discovers that Traci is missing. He wants Andrew to assist him in searching for her, but the rising sun prevents Bennett from leaving the shelter of the cave.

Doctor Thirteen races out into the snow where he finds the remains of a Cro-Magnon man buried beneath the ice. Above him, a pirate ship floats through the morning sky.
