- Essentially, they're both latinas who partnered Crispus Allen (Nolanverse). For Gotham Knight, Greg Rucka wrote the character as Montoya.[1] So while it's not (necessarily) as simple as "they renamed Renee because she's a bent cop", which is everywhere on the Internet, there's a link between the two.
