Non-canon death[]

I'm adding this because Bane's supposed Appearance of death has been added twice now, as the Batman: Arkham Knight #12 prequel comic... Except that, according to the actual game, Bane is still alive and leading a revolution in his native country Santa Prisca. This is revealed after you solve one of the Riddles (Which unlock various pieces of lore after being scanned and, in Arkham Knight, sometimes resolve loose ends. Two of them even set up the Season of Infamy DLCs before they were announced).

I don't think that it's that much of a stretch to say that the actual game trumps whatever promotional materials get released. Promotional comics and other tie-ins rarely have any baring on what they're advertising, so it really doesn't surprise me that the game ended up saying something different.

Hell, even when such tie-ins ARE canon, there is usually still a clear hierarchy, where the tie-ins are secondary. An example being that the Marvel Cinematic Universe films have never referenced the TV shows in any major capacity. I know that some hardcore fans like to believe that everything matters continuity-wise, but when the game and the tie-in comic contradict each other, we should go with what the game says. If you needed anymore confirmation that the Arkham Knight comics aren't canon, Captain Boomerang and King Shark have joined Bane in the "magically alive again" club. Suicide Squad is from Rocksteady themselves, just like Arkham Knight, so they obviously aren't taking the Arkham expanded universe (comics, animated films) too seriously. This isn't surprising, since Assault on Arkham contradicted the games in a few different scenes. I wonder how we're going to handle the Infobox of Floyd Lawton (Arkhamverse), since he is getting redesigned to look like the Will Smith version. Darkknight2149 04:45, September 1, 2020 (UTC)
