Should we update the main image with the textless cover for Dark Nights: Metal #3?: https://dc.wikia.com/wiki/File:Dark_Nights_Metal_Vol_1_3_Textless.jpg --SadCryingClown (talk) 20:58, October 11, 2017 (UTC)

  • Maybe, I think we get a clearer overview of his physique and true appearance from two of the panels inside the issue though. Ohdear15 (talk) 21:44, October 11, 2017 (UTC)

Not from Dark Metal

Uh, this specific character has been around a lot longer than DC Rebirth. In fact, this exact Bat-God Barbatos was worshiped by Simon Hurt in Grant Morrison's run on Batman comics from the New Earth continuity. Please find his real first appearance before updating the Infobox. DarkKnight2149 03:00, December 3, 2017 (UTC)

A reminder that the demon Barbatos was retconned by Grant Morrison and transformed into the Hyper-Adapter (New Earth). If this Barbatos from the Dark Multiverse is the same character, then we'd have to merge the pages. Are we absolutely certain that Barbatos (DM) is the same as Hyper-Adapter? - S.S. They are both clearly intended to be the same bat-god Barbatos that first appeared in Dark Knight, Dark City. They are both linked to Batman being transported through time at the end of Final Crisis and are bat-gods with connections to the origins of Gotham City that were worshipped by criminal organisations originating from ancient Gotham (such as the Court of Owls and the Black Glove). I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that they're the same character, unless there is any evidence to contradict that. At the very, very least, they're multiverse versions of the same character, although I doubt the original hyper-adapter was retconned out of the multiverse by Flashpoint. It might be worth asking Scott Snyder on Twitter or something, if we have reasonable doubt. DarkKnight2149 06:02, September 17, 2018 (UTC)
In Dark Night, Dark City, the BatGod being worshipped during the ritual was intended to be Barbatos (Dark Multiverse), but was instead revealed in Batman and Robin #16 to be the Hyper-Adapter released by Darkseid to chase Bruce Wayne through time. They are two separate entities, one being a pawn of Darkseid, one being a multiversal being who destroys worlds. I believe that Simon Hurt thought he was worshipping Barbatos, but was imbued with energies from the H-A and became immortal, also leading to the attempted reincarnation of Darkseid in his body. The actual Barbatos Batgod first appeared in Metal. SONOFBATMANN (talk) 22:17, September 17, 2018 (UTC)

Barbatos is really responsable for batman's existence and without him, batman is nothing or barbatos was bluffing.
