I have not been reading Brightest Day, nor have I read Blackest Night ~ so my question is this. Does Boston Brand now that he is alive still have his powers ~ or does his powers no come from the White Lantern Ring in his possession?

He does not have the power of Deadman because at the moment he's not a ghost. What he has are the so far undefined powers of a White Ring, so technically he might be considered a White Lantern.
At the moment it's more like the ring is wielding Brand however, than the other way around.
