Separate page?[]
The Flashpoint Timeline is partially based on the Burtonverse but nothing proves us that the events of Batman/Batman Returns happened in this continuity; the history of Burtonverse/Earth-89 Batman could be different than Flashpoint Batman's.
Even if these events really happened in the Flashpoint, we could keep them separate as this page only has to mention the events of The Flash Movie with a link to the original events, like we already do with characters from other continuities. -- Cmanigold June 16, 2023 17:50 (UTC)
- Maybe we should just redirect this page to the Burtonverse Batman page Conner Kennt69 (talk) 18:14, 16 June 2023 (UTC)
- I guess it would be safer to keep Bruce Wayne (DC Extended Universe: Flashpoint) and Bruce Wayne (Burtonverse) as separate pages. We know that similar or nearly identical events can happen on different earths (for example DCAU and Earth 12 or Superman Returns (Movie) and Arrowverse: Earth-96). The events of Batman (1989 Movie) and Batman Returns seemingly happened in the Burtonverse, on Arrowverse: Earth-89 and on Earth 789. DC Extended Universe: Flashpoint would just be another alternate reality in which the Burton movies are canon, but not necessarily the Burtonverse itself. Also from a fan perspective it would probably be hard to accept that the Burtonverse films are just an alternate DCEU timeline that is erased from existence at the end of The Flash movie. -- The Gotham Knight June 16, 2023 19:39 (UTC)
If I can put in my two cents here-- it wouldn't have to be "erased," exactly. There's nothing in the movie that necessarily indicates that when Flash undoes the change he made in the timeline that it completely erases Earth-89. On the contrary, my thought was that it likely put it back on the correct course, as what we saw in the movie was an alternate timeline of Earth-89. So when Flash went back to ensure his mother died, my assumption is; Zod didn't kill baby Superman, so Superman would have stopped Zod, and Batman wouldn't have died. Earth-89 itself didn't die, but that timeline certainly would have, if time travel is as detrimental to reality as was indicated in this movie. At the end of the day, I believe this is the same version of Batman from the Batman and Batman Returns, just in an alternate timeline. That being said, I think there probably should be two pages, just like we have the Pre-Crisis Batman, the Post-Crisis Batman and now an alternate timeline Batman, all played by Michael Keaton, all essentially the same character with minor tweaks. I tend to like that idea, because in my mind, this version of Batman is still alive.---Noah Tall (talk) 14:18, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
- Let's just keep this DC Extended Universe: Flashpoint page. If we merge this into the Burtonverse, that would mean the alternate Barry Allen, Zod, Kara, and everyone in the Flashpoint timeline would have to be moved to Burtonverse. And if the Flashpoint timeline is the Burtonverse, Batman saying "This is why Superman works alone" wouldn't make any sense because Kal-El died before he ever got to Earth. - I just want to say for the record that I agree that this is a new character created for this movie and should've his own page. If anything we could add that his backstory is probably similar to the one of his Burtonverse counterpart. Red Nightwing (talk) 20:10, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
You apparently didn't read my post SeanWheeler. Like I said, this was likely an alternate timeline. Not just for the DEU, but for Earth-89 as well. Besides, the Batman you were talking about was George Clooney, and we already know that he's not the same Batman. Not that it makes a difference, we should still keep the pages separate.---Noah Tall (talk) 17:49, 24 June 2023 (UTC)
