:: I know. I was just pointing out that he is never called that in-universe or official marketing. Similar to mustache-less Gordon using a regular spotlight as his [[Bat-Signal]], The Dark Knight (Batman's nickname in the comics) is their Batman, with a Tim Bradstreet/''Injustice''/''Arkham Origins''-esque costume to match. Aliases

To whom this may concern, the alias "Batman" is never used in Gotham. Both in the show itself and in Season 5 marketing, he was only ever referred to as "The Dark Knight" and "Gotham's Dark Knight". Careful not to mix continuities.

Likewise, Jeremiah never became the Joker in Gotham (in fact, there was no final incarnation of Joker). He became a Proto-Joker in Season 4 and evolved into a second Proto-Joker (an amalgam of both Jerome and Jeremiah) in the series finale.

Originally Jeremiah was being set up to be yet another precursor, but with the shortened final season, they decided to leave it ambiguous whether he evolves into the Joker after the show ends or inspires someone else. The show was more about the origins of the ideology and lineage that led to the Joker than the origin of the Joker himself. Darkknight2149 01:16, October 1, 2020 (UTC)
