Can of Worms[]
0/ Master Comics #13 is listed as the First Appearance, but ...
1/ This feature started out as Bill Crane, Frontier Marshal, in Master Comics #1.
2/ In Master Comics #4, all of the characters still have the same names.
3/ Master Comics #s 3, 5, & 6 are not available online.
4/ In Master Comics #7, the leading man is now "Buck Jones," but he's still the "Frontier Marshall," still lives in "Big Savage," and his sidekick is still "Mesquite Mike."
.
5/ So Bill became Buck in either #5, #6, or #7. Any clues about that would be welcome.
6/ All the names stay the same after this, including Master Comics #13, until the last installment, in Master Comics #32.
7/ So the "First Issue" for Buck Jones, under his own name, might be #5, #6, or #7, but it's definitely not #13. Stoop Davy Dave (talk) 07:56, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
- According to the GCD, it was #6. DrJohnnyDiablo (talk) 16:04, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

- You're welcome. By the way, in my search, I found the original art for the final page of the Buck Jones story in Master #6 on an auction site here. Bill Crane turns over the feature to Buck Jones in-story as seen on that page. DrJohnnyDiablo (talk) 16:24, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
- A rare find indeed. If I could afford that stuff, I might not be doing this stuff, so I'd better not look.Stoop Davy Dave (talk) 16:33, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
- Here's the page:

- Looks to me like Buck was integrated into Earth-S. He should probably have a regular character page, and this franchise/universe page should be deleted. -- SuperFan24K (talk) 17:38, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
- If he didn't guest-star in any other features or appear in any crossovers, then that doesn't seem very integrated. If Fawcett was licensing the character, probably leaving it how it is is best. Stoop Davy Dave (talk) 01:05, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
