Death[]

It looks like maybe Copperhead is alive. A Copperhead is appearing in Batgirl and the Birds of Prey and it's not the female version from All-Star Batman. So is he alive or is it yet another successor? Kyletheobald (talk) 19:51, October 13, 2016 (UTC)

I was hoping that they'd just use Snakebite instead since they look so similar but I guess it's pretty clearly Copperhead. Personally, I prefer the idea that it's a successor unless otherwise stated, but I haven't read or know the direction the book is going. --- Haroldrocks talk 22:15, October 13, 2016 (UTC)
Do we have a rule for this? Like "If a supposedly-dead character shows up with no explanation, we assume it is the same character brought back to life", or "If a supposedly-dead character shows up with no explanation, we assume it is a new character with the same name" or even "If a supposedly-dead character shows up with no explanation, and they look just like they did previously, we assume it is the same character brought back to life. But if they are redesigned or otherwise looks different, we assume it is a new character with the same name"? Shadzane 💀 (talk) 22:28, October 13, 2016 (UTC)
We don't have a specific rule for this situation; we usually use our best judgement. It happens all the time with Green Lanterns. I assume artists use the Secret Files to pick several Lanterns to draw without checking to see if they're alive or not. Kyletheobald (talk) 23:06, October 13, 2016 (UTC)
Not-Female Copperhead appears again in Batman #14. Any more ideas on the issue? --- Haroldrocks talk 00:03, January 7, 2017 (UTC)
I'd probably say go with the original. It makes me wonder, though, if we have any ambiguous successors on the site where the original was dead and we just decided to call them whatever character II. Kyletheobald (talk) 06:50, January 7, 2017 (UTC)
