Took off the "Nogales" on Don Miguel's name. Don Nogales was the villain in the Jack Woods stories in New Fun 1 and 2. At this point in the two appearances I have for him (More Fun 8 and 9), Don Miguel's last name hasn't been given.Jim in NYC (talk) 16:56, January 7, 2016 (UTC)
- According to this secondary source, [1], talking about (More Fun 7), "Don Nogales is called Don Miguel in this story and in his subsequent appearance. No explanation is given for the change in name." Are Nogales and Miguel different guys? Stoop Davy Dave (talk) 11:35, January 8, 2016 (UTC)
- Yes. Unless I missed something in the three issues I don't have (3, 4, and 6), the secondary source is wrong. Don Nogales, as I mentioned, was the main villain in at least the first two Jack Woods stories in New Fun 1 and 2, and he wasn't given a first name in either. Where the confusion comes in is that Nogales' main henchman was also named Miguel--I doubt W.C. Brigham wanted to strain his creativity more than he had to when coming up with Spanish names.
If you look at the two characters, Don Nogales (in New Fun #2) has a thick mustache, while Don Miguel (in New Fun #7) is clean-shaven.Jim in NYC (talk) 14:40, November 2, 2017 (UTC)
