No character named "Pooey" appears in the Blimp story; Blimp doesn't even say the word.Jim in NYC (talk) 22:41, October 10, 2014 (UTC)
King Harald does not appear in the Viking story. The man on the throne is Sigrid's father Hagbard. In addition, Ighild is the Seta seen in the previous issue, so this is not her first appearance.Jim in NYC (talk) 23:05, October 10, 2014 (UTC)
In the Captain Bill story, shouldn't Lane be listed as a villain, since he's Jim's boss and discusses the possibility of Jim being recognized with him?Jim in NYC (talk) 18:34, October 12, 2015 (UTC)
- I can't not fix it. Stoop Davy Dave (talk) 02:01, October 14, 2015 (UTC)
Captain Bill appearance[]
Captain Bill is listed as Mentioned Only, maybe I'm misidentifying the character, but isn't he the old man the kids talk to in panel 8? Danter7 (talk) 15:22, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
- Nope, that's him, my bad. Huck Foley (talk) 03:55, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
Signs & Portents[]
On the talk page for New Comics #9 there is an argument over whether or not the Norse god Thor was implicitly present, or merely mentioned, at the scene of Djorg's death. And maybe he was, but the evidence was sketchy. A similar argument, and a much stronger case, can be made here, that the Norse god Odin is implicitly present, behind the scenes, at the occasion of Ivar's adoption by Kol. 1/ A dazzling 3-pointed light appears, twice, and is understood by the Vikings to be a divine signal. 2/ Kol's seta and her staff find the sign of the triskele on baby Ivar's chest and right arm, and understand this to be a sign of Odin. 3/ An emissary from Loki himself, identified as such in the panel's caption, sneaks into the story and gifts the baby with a suspicious package.
So, should I add "Odin (Behind the scenes)" to this story's Appearances list, or not? Huck Foley (talk) 22:59, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
- I considered adding Loki as BTS due to the appearance of his emmisary, but that plot point is never developed (I think), so I honestly just decided to ignore it. Not sure if Odin counts as BTS or Mentioned, it is strongly implied that he is intervening, but never outright stated as in the case of Loki. My point is, well I really don't know, but I wouldn't be opposed to adding the gods as BTS in this case.
- BTW isn't that last note redundant? That info is already conveyed in the synopsis. Danter7 (talk) 00:07, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
Ahmina give 'em both the BTS treatment. And yes it is redundant, the exact wording was recycled from the Synopsis to the Note because in an argument, one wants precision. But whoever feels like changing the wording probably should. Huck Foley (talk) 06:21, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
- I'm going to also add Odin as BTS in the first story for continuity's sake, since his intervention seems to start there. Danter7 (talk) 14:52, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
So now, should I go back to New Comics #9 and change Thor's implicit appearance from a Mention to a BTS also? In for a penny, in for a pound and all that. Huck Foley (talk) 00:26, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
