"In his original appearances, Pow-Wow Smith's adventures took place in the present day of the 1940s and '50s and featured technology such as cars and telephones. Starting with Western Comics #44, his stories were retconned to be set in the old west after the Civil War." Perhaps the character before Western Comics #44 was Earth-Two Pow-Wow Smith...? - Sounds like something that SHOULD be true but might not be. Good way to establish the canonicity of it might be to look for events where old-west-Pow-Wow might have met up with Vigilante or Jonah Hex or the Trigger Twins, then index the old west version of Pow Wow as being from that universe also. Even if it's a big obvious 1980s or 1990s retcon, it still would pass the "been published" test, thus canonical. Do examples exist? Stoop Davy Dave (talk) 01:27, November 2, 2019 (UTC)
