Appearances[]

So, I brought this up on the forums, but I know not all of our regulars frequent there. I'm trying to do both DC Universe: Decisions, and Battle for Bludhaven right now, and Robotman appears in both of those. Now, to my knowledge, in all of his many years of continuity, he's only ever worked with the Doom Patrol. But... now I see him working with both the Teen Titans (by himself, no other adults) in Bludhaven, and with the JLA in Decisions. Did he like... make some really nice connections at a party or something, or can somebody give me an explanation for this stuff? Because he was hanging out with Robin... alone... in the Batcave... without Batman (DC Universe: Decisions #1).

I take it this isn't a "snuggling up with appliances" moment?[1] Really, unless we need to make a new category to accomodate their attraction, I wouldn't read too much into it. Ad-hoc team-ups have been a staple of comics since before The Brave and the Bold Vol 1. Given the Doom Patrol's connections to the Teen Titans via Beast Boy, plus the tendency for writers to include their favorite characters, it's not inconcievable that this is just a case of Cliff Steele being popular.
