Merge?[]
Okay someone explain to me why someone wants to merge the Wonder Woman DISAMBIG page with ANYTHING, as the primary idea of this page is SPECIFICALLY to SPLIT OUT all of the various specific elements of this topic? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kal l fan (talk • contribs).

Post-Rebirth Wonder Woman[]

- Diana on the Prime Earth page is the Post-Flashpoint Pre-Rebirth Wonder Woman. This 6'2" height figure is for the Post-Rebirth Wonder Woman, starting from Wonder Woman Vol 5 #1 Aug.2016, so it probably does not, or should not, apply to the earlier version.

- Are you expecting Wonder Woman's origin story to remain unchanged in the Post-Rebirth universe? I'm not, here's why: 1/ The Post-Rebirth Invisible Airplane already has a different origin from that of the New Earth version, and it's different from the Prime Earth version just by existing, (since there was no invisible plane seen or mentioned from 2011 to 2016)(*). 2/ Steve Trevor's backstory has been altered; he's now an enlisted Navy SEAL, where New Earth and Prime Earth Steves were USAF officers. 3/ Etta Candy Post-Rebirth is ten dress sizes larger than Etta Prime Earth (Amanda Waller, same deal). 4/ Cheetah P-R is physically different from Cheetah P-E, and seems to have always been so. 5/ These differences will only accumulate, over time.

- There is no "Post-Rebirth" universe. The fact is, we can't give that universe designation to the few characters that were slightly altered after Rebirth, because there are simply too many others that remained the same. Do you really want another "multicont" mess? And there are many other reasons for not assuming a new universe:
1. Rebirth was never meant to be a reboot, just a throwback to pre-flashpoint stuff using the same characters created for New 52. How would we explain a sudden change of universe/continuity if we have no indication that such a change ever happened in-universe?
2. All of the characters featured since Rebirth are the same as the "pre-rebirth" characters. (except Supes and Wally Flash).
3. Differences and changes like the ones you mentioned, are simply part of DC's greatest effort to ignore everything they did in the past 5 years, while still mantaining the same characters. That is what Rebirth is really about. A gigantic retcon without any sort of explanation. And we just have to go along with it.
The most annoying thing about Rebirth, is that it is blatantly ignoring continuity. The "DC Universe" matters no more and they just change stuff at will, hoping to cash in on the uprisal of the genre's popularity. Look, there's no explanation for all the stuff that was changed, and the only thing we know from DC is a simple "New 52 was a lie, Rebirth is the real thing", which for us means "New 52 Prime Eath is now apocryphal, but Rebirth Prime Earth is canon." 0. I'm new here (2 yrs?) and don't have a good grasp of how bad the "multicont" mess was, but it looks to have been resolved before I got here. That's the thing, the "multicont" approach seems to have worked out well. Seems like it would still work out well if applied to this new problem. Shorter: A whole new, mostly-redundant universe is not needed, BUT a new Diana does seem to exist, and seems to need to be accounted for.
1. It's not the case that there's "no indication that such a change ever happened in-universe". Diana's memory problem in WWv5#1 are an indication of exactly that.
2. Almost all, not all, of the DCU characters are the same, yes, but several important ones are clearly not: Wally Flash, Steve Trevor, etc.
3 & 4. As you describe, it's a gigantic, selective, unexplained, partial retcon. And it ignores continuity. That's wrong, and playing along with it, without addressing it, is likewise wrong.
5. Why is it wrong? Because ignoring evidence is always wrong. And over time, the evidence will accumulate, the differences will widen, between the Pre-Rebirth and Post-Rebirth versions of these characters. And airplanes. Stoop Davy Dave (talk) 12:55, September 23, 2016 (UTC)
