- I... am alone again... It seems as if tragedy and death will be my only companions into eternity!
- — Korak
Tarzan #234 is an issue of the series Tarzan (Volume 1) with a cover date of January, 1975.
Synopsis for "Tarzan and the Lion Man: Conclusion"
CONTINUED from LAST ISSUE: While swinging through the jungle, Tarzan encounters a band of Beast-Men who are battling a savage blond man in a giant tree. When Tarzan drops down to them, he notices a woman cowering there and he's immediately threaten by the savage man protecting her. The savage man snarls and positions himself to strike against Tarzan, and a savage woman suddenly swoops behind them chanting "Kill him!"
Tarzan tells the cowering woman to jump down from the tree to safety. He then attacks the savage man and both tumble towards the jungle floor. Tarzan is able to twist his body in mid-air, and lands on top of his enemy, thus cushioning his own fall. Several Beast-Men follow Tarzan down the tree, and he quickly grabs the wild woman and drags her deeper into the jungle. They spot the other woman and the three make their escape down a cliff and back to the film set.
During the following weeks, the movie company continues to film their jungle sequences, believing Tarzan to be the actor Stanley Obroski, as they look identical. Tarzan later discovers that the real Stanley has died at the hands of his kidnappers. He retrieves his body from the kidnapper's hut and brings him back to his tent on the film set. As the crew is breaking down their set, they discover Stanley lying on a cot, dead, and they grieve.
