Task Force X is a government intelligence agency mostly known for overseeing the Suicide Squad. It was created by President Truman after the Justice Society disbanded. Under the leadership of Amanda Waller, Task Force X also oversaw Argent, Checkmate, and Project Peacemaker. It was disbanded by President Bush during the Janus Directive event. The name has been used since then, often simply synonymous with the Suicide Squad. Task Force X was created by John Ostrander, first appearing in Legends #3. (1987)
