Tatsu Yamashiro is the hero Katana, who protected Japanese civilians during World War II and its aftermath using her magic sword.

History

Tatsu did not operate openly until the end of the war, and was not affiliated with the Imperial Japanese government or military. When Amanda Waller tried to drop a bomb on a Japanese neighborhood that was being attacked by extraterrestrial invaders Tatsu used the souls in her sword to force the bomb to explode high in the air and absorb the explosion, saving the town.
