Tatsuo Hasigawa was the head of the Hasigawa Crime Family in Gotham City. He had one daughter, Eiko, to whom he delegated some authority within the family.[1]

While Hasigawa has traditionally refused to align his family with any of the Gotham Crime Families, he decided to side with the Black Mask in his attempt to take Gotham.[2] This decision placed the Hasigawa family at odds with the Calabrese Crime Family, which was led at that time by Selina Kyle.

Unknown to Hasigawa, Eiko became obsessed with Catwoman and began impersonating her.[3] Black Mask decided to eliminate Selina Kyle and, in a case of mistaken identity, shot Eiko on the Calabrese Townhome roof. Later, when the Black Mask saw video footage of Killer Croc delivering an injured Catwoman to the Hasigawa Penthouse, he believed that Tatsuo Hasigawa had betrayed him.[4]

Black Mask staged a raid on the Hasigawa Penthouse, killing many of Hasigawa's men. He presented Hasigawa with a photograph of Killer Croc delivering Eiko. Hasigawa realized that the Catwoman in the photo was Eiko and, to protect her, ended his resistance to Black Mask. Black Mask executed Hasigawa by shooting him.[4]

Hasigawa was interred in a Gotham City cemetery.[5]
