Tattoo was a member of Black Mask's False Face Society.
History
Tattoo was one of many thugs who joined up with Black Mask when he held a recruitment meeting at Ravenswood Cemetery. Black Mask was particularly impressed by Tattoo's strength and accuracy with a pistol and made him his second-in-command after Tattoo proved himself by killing Black Mask's bodyguard.
He assisted Black Mask in the assault and abduction of Lucius Fox.[1]
Tattoo was in charge of hosting another recruitment meeting to levy more men into the False Face Society - one of these men being a disguised Bruce Wayne under the alias "Skull-Face". Tattoo came to believe that Skull-Face was either a cop or a mercenary looking to rescue Lucius. Tattoo informs Black Mask of his hunch and the two would test Skull-Face's loyalty by threatening to disfigure Lucius. Skull-Face attacked Black Mask only for Tattoo to knock his mask off, revealing Skull-Face as Bruce Wayne. Through the intervention of Black Mask's ex-fiancée Circe, Bruce was able to escape Tattoo's clutches with Lucius Fox. Tattoo and Black Mask gave chase, only for Batman to appear and attack Tattoo. After a moderate confrontation, Batman was able to subdue Tattoo and he was arrested by the Gotham City Police Department.[2]
