Team One: StormWatch (Volume 1) with a cover date of July, 1995.
Synopsis for the 1st Story
At Cape Canaveral, an intruder tries to sabotage the launch of a classified U.S. military satellite but is shot by U.S. Air Force Sgt. Marc “Slay” Slayton. Slayton and a reporter witness the intruder reveal its true Daemonite form just before the rocket launch incinerates it. The military conducts a cover-up to discredit the reporter so Slayton meets with covert operative Lucy Blaize in Washington, D.C. to learn more. She informs him of a similar attack on a submarine facility and that she is forming a team to investigate. Slayton wants to join it. Later, Blaize argues with International Operations head Miles Craven about staffing the team and assigns him an advisor, Special Agent Trelane. In Nebraska, Helspont introduces himself to superhuman mob boss Slaughterhouse Smith and his men. At a secret facility in West Virginia, Dr. Trina Nychus tests subjects with psionic abilities, among them telepath Isaiah King. On Trelane's advice, Craven approves John Colt, Mr. Majestic, and Mason for the team along with Slayton, King, cybernetic weapons developer Henry “Think Tank” Bendix, and the enhanced covert operative Regiment. As the team trains, Craven designates it Team One.
