Teen Titans Giant #5 is an issue of the series Teen Titans Giant (Volume 1) with a cover date of December, 2018. It was published on October 24, 2018.
Synopsis for "Meltdown!"
Beast Boy after recovering from Mammoth's attack notices both Starfire and Robin are struggling to defeat the Fearsome Five and only Raven is able to overpower them. He rushes in and stops her from killing Disruptor, stating he doesn't deserve to die and she doesn't want to kill him, but the darkness overpowers her at times. Raven angrily attacks Beast Boy in response but gets calmed down after he reminds that they're teammates. He then tells her to focus on fighting the Fearsome Five instead of him.
Beast Boy collects all the devices containing the toxins by turning into a giant octopus, telling Starfire to take him as far away as she can towards the sea so he can dispose them deep underwater. Finding an underwater cave, Garfield decides to hide the devices and escapes before they explode, though Starfire assumes he was killed in the blast. She returns to fight the Fearsome Five and Disruptor tells the H.I.V.E. that they transported the devices miles away from the city and is told to get ready to be teleported to their base.
After the Teen Titans subdue the villains, Starfire tells Robin and Raven that Beast Boy was killed. However he soon arrives on the scene and reveals himself to be alive, having burrowed into the seabed to escape the blast. Disruptor however reveals that they and the Fearsome Five were being fooled while H.I.V.E. conquered Ciratti, where they will ride out the collapse of the civilization and they're going to quicken humanity's progress towards its doom. As the Titans try to attack him, he is teleported before they can land a hit. Robin states he went to Ciratti and the Titans determine to liberate it.

Synopsis for Teen Titans: "Clash of the Teen Titans!"
This story is reprinted from Teen Titans (Volume 3) #5.
Kid Flash plows into Deathstroke/Jericho with a flurry of blows. While Deathstroke is distracted with the speedster's attack, Robin tries to blind the villain with a batarang. Jericho is forced to abandon Deathstroke's body and begins hopping from one Titan to the next. Cyborg warns everyone not to make eye contact with him, but it does little good. Jericho then hops into Superboy and begins torching everything with heat vision. He then jumps into Beast Boy.
It looks as if it might be the end of the Teen Titans. Suddenly, Raven shows up. She extends her Darksoul self and Jericho leaves Beast Boy's body – apparently with the intention of taking control of Raven. But he screams in agony and disappears into Raven's soul self. Raven then teleports away.
Sometime later, Superboy and Wonder Girl are talking on the roof of Titans Tower. Cassie doesn't mention anything about her recent visitation by Ares (or the fact that her lasso has lightning powers), and Superboy tells her that he is living on a farm now under an assumed name – Connor.
Moments later, Wonder Woman arrives, grabs Superboy and tosses him far off into the distance. She tells Cassie that she is coming home – now!

Synopsis for Super Sons: "Battle in the Batcave"
This story is reprinted from Super Sons #5.
For their misdeeds, Damian has been sidelined for the past week, while Jon is forced to do farm chores without using his powers. While arguing with his parents about his punishment and the family's impending move to Metropolis, Jon tears off his civilian hoodie to reveal his Superboy costume beneath and jumps off to Gotham to confront Damian. Clark decides it's best to let him blow off some steam rather than stopping him.
Damian attacks him on sight, claiming he could be an escaped android, but soon settles down. Jon says he came to ask for Damian's advice, but Damian's abrasiveness quickly escalates the conversation into a heated argument and then a renewed brawl. Alfred's arrival interrupts, and when Jon is too slow to hide in the T-Rex, he offers the boys a meal. As they eat, Alfred recounts the slow and difficult process of their fathers learning to trust each other and becoming friends.
Batman and Superman themselves then arrive. Clark tells Jon that the move to Metropolis is going to happen, but it's okay if he wants to stop hiding his powers and pursue a heroic career, as long as he's always accompanied by Damian. The Super Sons run out into the night in search of adventure.

Synopsis for Sideways: "It's Showtime"
This story is reprinted from Sideways #5.
When Tempus Fuginaut visited Derek in his bedroom, the latter insisted on giving up being a superhero, although the former insisted that the multiverse was in need of his power. Tempus Fuginaut took Derek to the Branefold Interior, where he could access any place that has ever been or ever could be, then revealed that Fuginauts existed to ensure that realities and potential realities did not interfere with each other. Then, Tempus Fuginaut insisted that Derek protect his reality before returning him to his bedroom.
The next day, Derek saw a video on his phone about the Showman calling Sideways a "fake hero", then attempted to rush out of his house before his mother confronted him for missing the interview. Derek insisted that his mother had already ruined his life before he went to school. When Derek was on his phone, Freddy attacked him, but was stopped by Ernie, then confronted by Emie. At the Dark Star Sciences Headquarters, Derek's mother contemplated what he had said to her and was late to work.
At school, Derek was contemplating not wanting to be Sideways anymore when he and the other students saw the Showman standing on top of a school bus. A riot started as the Showman spoke. Derek decided to do something about it by suiting up as Sideways and appearing next to the Showman. Sideways learned that he was manipulating the crowd's emotions. The Showman beat Sideways and was about to unmask him before Ernie and Emie intervened, distracting him and allowing the hero to take him to a desert through a rift. Sideways revealed to the Showman that he would be powerless, as he had nobody to influence with his power in the middle of nowhere, then defeated him by knocking him unconscious.
Later, Derek sat on a park bench with Emie and reconsidered quitting being Sideways. Derek also revealed that he rifted the Showman to a police station, where he was tied up and had a warning note tied attached to him. Back at Dark Star Sciences, his mother attempted to learn Derek's competition for the internship when she found a file on one of her co-worker's computers with his name on it. When she opened the file, she saw a video of him creating a rift, much to her surprise.
