Termidore, in the Middle East, remained a monarchy until at least 1946.
History
In 1946 the fabulously wealthy and famously hedonistic Rajah of Termidore visited his embassy in America and threw a lavish oriental banquet. An American entertainment impressario, Deke Parsons, called at the embassy seeking to book his client, Daffy Dill a woman professional wrestler, for the evening's entertainment. Mr. Parsons wandered out of bounds in the Embassy, and got much too close to the Rajah's harem's dressing rooms, for which he almost got his head lopped off. Miss Dill, meanwhile, due to a series of preposterous misunderstandings, almost became the favorite wife of the Rajah. Daffy Dill beat the hell out of several of the Rajah's spearmen, before some wiser heads among the Rajah's entourage encouraged him to smooth things over quickly, pay off both of these disruptive Americans, and send them on their way. This worked out, and afterward the embarassing incident wasn't mentioned again.
