Synopsis for "Ask Not..."
Wes (last name unknown) is an automobile marketer attending the release of the 1961 Icon with his wife, Kate. Suddenly, a meteor crashes to Earth, revealing an alien menace. The Civil Defense Corps arrives on the scene and begins to combat the alien menace, as does the Southern Defense Corps. Appearing to be defeated until the arrival of Old Glory, a legendary hero armed with the American flag, the heroes dispatch the alien menace. Pharos saves a newspaper reporter known to us as Miss Darling and strikes up a relationship with her.
Having been fired from his marketing job due to the association of the Icon with the alien invasion, Wes receives a phone call from Bobby Kennedy, whom he knew from Harvard. Kennedy reveals to him the true nature of the CDC and offers Wes a job with the Federal Disaster Assistance Administration, which he accepts.
Wes' first CDC operation is a staged battle with the Red Terror, one of the CDC's standard villains. However, just as he is to save the day, Old Glory plummets to the ground and dies.
