Synopsis for "Case of the Hooded Hijackers!"

When "Highbrow" Dillon's gang is constantly being held up themselves by a group of hooded crooks, "Highbrow" Dillon comes up with a plan to get the hooded hijackers get arrested in their place so that they can commit crimes and not have their loot stolen.

By sending out messages signed under Jean Loring's name, Dillon gets the Atom in on the case. While Highbrow and his gang are temporarily in prison, the hooded hijackers are forced to commit a crime on their own. They end up being beaten by the Atom (who learns they were always able to learn of Highbrow Dillon's gang doing due to rigged microphone bugs.) When Dillon and his gang are eventually released, the Atom manages to bust them as well by using the same bugging devices the hooded hijackers setup in Dillon's hideout.

When Alpheus Hyatt's Time Pool pulls up the base of a crystal ball supposedly the property of Nostradamus from the year 1888, Ray Palmer decides to investigate the mystery as the Atom. Traveling through the Pool to 1888, he learns that the crystal ball is actually the property of writer Jules Verne.

When thieves who believe the crystal ball can foretell the future, the Atom secretly busts up the criminals, and ends up learning that the crystal ball has no future telling properties and only showed swirling mists, Verne tells the police that he used it as inspiration for his books.
