Synopsis for "Authority: World's End - Chapter 7"

The Authority and Stormwatch continue their battle against Eidolon's Army of the Mad. During the battle Fuji is brought down.

Within the Carrier, Angie has regained her powers as the Engineer and she unleashes a barrage of gunfire that rips Eidolon to shreds. But to Angie's horror, Eidolon's remains regenerate. Eidolon pounces on Angie and she is unable to evade. Angie resorts to making blades and slices at Eidolon but it is futile as he continually regenerates. Then at the worst of times, Angie's powers deactivate again and she reverts back to her normal self. Taking this opportunity to strike, Eidolon advances but Angie kicks him in the face, knocking him backwards. Suddenly a Door appears behind Eidolon and he falls into the Bleed.

Christine Trelane rushes in to find Angie. She asks what happened and Angie tells her she thinks the Carrier had woken up momentarily and created the Door to help her against Eidolon. She then explains that her nanites are trying to reboot but they keep shutting down to repair her Biosystemware. Furthermore, Angie reveals the Carrier has gone dormant again and glances outside. She sees Jackson King unleashing a way of energy that tears through dozens of Eidolon's soldiers. Just then, Swift and Hellstrike appear and tell Angie and Christine that Fuji is dying and he needs help.

They arrive at the side of the fallen Fuji. Angie tries to use her nanites to repair Fuji's containment suit, but at first they would not respond to Angie's will. Winter begins to call for an emergency evacuation for Fuji but Angie tells him to wait. She then grabs her knife and cuts into her skin. Her silver blood pours onto Fuji's wound and it repairs his suit.

After dealing with Fuji and the Army of the Mad, the Carrier is now safe from danger and operational but at a limited capacity. Stormwatch's help is finished for now and they prepare to return to Skywatch III. Christine gives Angie a timetable of rendezvous points, regular power resourcing and refugee relocation. Midnighter asks Winter to keep an eye out for the missing Apollo. Unknown to both teams, somewhere out in space Apollo drifts as his body succumbs to the effects of the Incubite bite.

With their communications up again, the Authority are contacted by Mr. Hawthorne. He tells them about Rendelsham losing several of their scouting teams and he asks for the Authority's help in finding them. Jack Hawksmoor is distrustful of Rendelsham's claims but Angie tells him that the Authority need to start helping people again. Angie, Midnighter, and Swift head out to find the missing scouts. Jack stays behind alone. But soon he hears something. Suddenly, a huge Incubite attacks him.

At the Suffolk Fenlands, Swift, Angie, and Midnighter meet one of Rendlesham's teams on the edge of a field where an abandoned cottage sits in the distance. They are told that it was near the cottage the other scout teams disappeared. Angie scans a reading from the cottage in which she describes it almost like a quantum variance field. Much to Swift's objections, Midnighter decides to solely head towards the cottage as he is specialized in assessing and detecting danger before it happens.

As Midnighter approaches the cottage, a weird sensation flows over him. He closes his eyes and tries to discern it. Once he opens his eyes, he finds he is no longer out in front of the abandoned cottage, but is in a sunny place full of people in the middle of a village fair. An old woman asks if Midnighter would like some more tea and calls him a "vicar". Midnighter then sees his costume is gone and he is dressed like a vicar with a teacup in his hand.

Synopsis for "The Tao of Tao - Part 2"

Providence is engaged in battle with Void as the former pleads with her to stop fighting and help her to fix the world. But her words are useless as Tao, who watches on, informs Providence that she has no idea whose she is dealing with. So Tao decided to tell his story to her.

Tao narrates that he was held prisoner by Internal Operations who wanted to study him and learn his capabilities. Unfortunately for I.O., they failed and underestimated Tao who was able to make his escape. Afterwards, Tao foresaw the coming of Armageddon. He even admitted that he might have helped it along, and he wanted to take proper advantage of it. Thus he knew he needed help.

Tao knew the entity called Void existed and that she had reshaped the world. He could not allow that unless he controlled it. He tracked down the current host for the Void entity, a paramedic named Nikola Hanssen. Tao posed as a doctor and easily bent her to his will. With Nikola under his control and her power at his disposal, he determined who was most likely to prevent Armageddon. Under the guise of enlisting their help to stop the cataclysm, he had Void show them the future just enough to ensure that it would come to pass and that they could do nothing about it. Furthermore, most of them were not even aware Tao existed.

Tao's existence is his weakness. His mind and voice were impossible to resist but there were those who were determined not to allow him to speak. But with Void's unwilling help, he could now project his voice directly into their minds and manipulate them at his whims. Now he turned the most powerful beings on Earth such as Jackson King and Majestic into his "toys."
