Synopsis for "Authority: World's End - Chapter 9"

The posthuman Charles continues his attack on Midnighter, Angie, and Swift as he tells them that they are not welcome in his domain. Angie realizes that he's weaponized time against them. Charles concurs, stating that he had the honor of deploying temporal powers against Her Majesty's enemies since 1958. Angie then realizes Charles has no idea what has happened to the outside world, but he doesn't believe her when she tries to tell him.

Charles then uses his temporal powers to summon warriors from different time periods to fight for him: Dinosaurs, tanks, biplanes, Spartan soldiers, and Zulu warriors. As Angie narrowly evades a bombing run in the middle of the Blitz, she comes across a telephone box where its phone is ringing. She answers it and it is Hawthorne calling from Rendelsham. Hawthorne informs Angie that the man the Authority are fighting against is Meantime, one of the British government's superhuman agents. He and the others at Rendelsham believe Meantime used his time-manipulation powers to create this pocket reality because he cannot deal with the end of the world that had driven him mad. Furthermore, his actions are damaging the space/time fabric and will cause a total reality failure unless he is stopped. Rendelsham are planning to dispatch The Golden to breach the barrier and execute Meantime.

The Golden proceeds to do so and Meantime falls in pain as the pocket reality collapses, sending everyone back to reality. However, the attack did not kill Meantime. He is kneeling over the skeletal remains of his family, weeping. Angie tries to comfort him but he becomes enraged before he unleashes his time-manipulation powers. Meantime then tries to recreate his pocket reality to be with his family as the Authority tries to stop. As Meantime is distracted talking to his dead family, Midnighter grabs the hand off of the village's clock tower and fatally impaled Meantime.

With Meantime dead and the crisis over, the Authority returns to the Carrier. They search for Jack Hawksmoor but find the carcass of a slain Incubite. As they begin to wonder what just happened, Hawksmoor suddenly appears; this time his body is apparently healed and he is walking again. Hawksmoor then tells his very surprised teammates that he was meaning to clean up the dead Incubite.

Synopsis for "Team Achilles: Into the Fire - Chapter 2"

Stormwatch Team Achilles have succeeded in returning to their Earth and find themselves in Manhattan. They enter Moynihan's Bar where they watch a TV news report about the inauguration of StormWatch's new orbital satellite, Skywatch III, and Weatherman Jackson King informing reporters that the joint Stormwatch/NYPD squad Post Human Division would remain as a Earth-based team. A curious Ben Santini asks a bar patron about the P.H.D. in which he tells Team Achilles that they are "normal dudes who take down superhumans" not any different from Team Achilles.

Baron Chaos and the other villains previously in-tow with Team Achilles leave the scene. Santini decides to let them go as Team Achilles are in no shape to stop them. Furthermore, he sees on the TV showing Stormwatch Prime back in action and would no doubt take care of Chaos and the others. Flint is left surprised to see her formerly dead teammates such as Fuji, Fahrenheit, and Hellstrike are alive before running off to see them again.

Deciding to repair his relationship with Flint later, Santini and the others resolve to take some time to enjoy life now as the world doesn't seem to need Team Achilles as long as forces such as Jackson King's Stormwatch are protecting the planet. However, their enjoyment is short-lived as Earth comes under attack by the Reapers. Team Achilles prepares to head out and face this world-ending threat.
