Synopsis for "Night and the City"

Joker, Penguin and Riddler compete among themselves for the post of Gotham's crime boss. Upon Riddler's suggestion, they agree that the one who unmasks Batman will be the winner and can rule Gotham. Meanwhile, Chief Rojas finds out Ellen Yin is in cahoots with Batman and decides to use her as bait to capture him in hopes to impress Commissioner Gordon. The cops prepare to stun Batman, but the lights go out. He evades their blind shooting and grapples away with Yin. They then realize the power is cut from all of Gotham as well, due to Riddler hacking Gotham's central grid. The cops arrive, and the duo grapples away and escape to the Batmobile. Batman traces Riddler's location, with the police chasing the Batmobile. Riddler hacks into a train, and the Batmobile passes it before it crosses, but the police cars stay behind. Joker and Penguin then give the Batmobile chase. Riddler hacks into a bridge, which Batman, Yin, Penguin and Joker manage to cross in time, while the minions stay behind. Batman and Yin reach Riddler's presumed location, but it turns out to be a transmitter set by Riddler to mislead them. Penguin and Joker then reach them, and Batman throws a smoke bomb to avoid them. Riddler traps him and Yin in a pod, and sends them flying away.

The pod arrives at a dock, and when it opens, Joker and Penguin are revealed to be inside. Riddler tells the Riddlemen to "eliminate the competition". Now in the Batboat, Batman and Yin triangulate Riddler's location by solving his riddle: sitting near two things that don't mix which are water and oil (the cables are running across the water, and Riddler's base is an oil rig). The police spot the Batboat and start following it, and Gordon and Rojas have a discussion. When the duo arrives at the dock, Batman goes to find the criminals and tells Yin to keep a lookout. Meanwhile, the Riddlemen corner Joker and Penguin, and the two then declare an alliance. They easily defeat the Riddlemen. Batman arrives and fights the trio. Riddler eventually uses a crane to try to crush Batman, as Yin goes to aid Batman. Batman breaks an oil pipe which sends Penguin flying, and he then cuffs him. Yin gets to Riddler's remote control system. Batman throws an explosive Batarang, making a bunch of pipes fall down on Joker. Riddler uses the crane yet again, but it stops before it can reach Batman, thanks to Yin messing with the system. Batman and Riddler then fight, with Batman eventually knocking him out. The police later arrive at the scene, and they find the criminals tied up. Yin surrenders herself, with Rojas gladly accepting, but Gordon saves her, as she's a hero, and forces Rojas to give her back her badge. Later at the GCPD Headquarters rooftops (with the newly installed Bat-Signal), Batman and Gordon form an alliance, finally gaining the cops' trust. Gordon tells Batman that all he wants from him is to keep Gotham safe for his daughter. Batman complies and grapples away.
