Synopsis for "The Demon: Hell Is Earth, Conclusion"

The demonic sphere begins enveloping the entire world, transforming Metropolis, Gotham, and many other places into Belial's new realm and transforming their hapless citizens into frenzied demons. A weakened Xanadu and Merlin manage to turn the tide by combining their magics enough to strike Belial away from the group. Near-death and with no other recourse, Merlin gives Etrigan his magic and life force, hoping that his demon body and their shared blood would help him survive it. The power initially overwhelms him, but with focus manages to enact Merlin's last wish -- to remove the legendary sword Excalibur from its magical protection within his body, much to the horror of Jason.

Etrigan uses the sword to slay Lucifer. After Belial extracts a rib bone from the corpse as a sword (a tradition in Hell), the two finally face off in a show of overwhelming strength and familial hatred. Belial gets the upper hand with his boosted flame breath and brings Etrigan to the ground. Jason plays into Belial's pride and hatred and approaches on the pretense of insulting Etrigan in his last moments, allowing Etrigan to grab his sword and slice off both of Belial's hands. Belial attempts to convince Etrigan that the world will be destroyed due to the spell if he is killed in his last moments. Unconvinced, Jason and Etrigan easily agree to "roll the dice" and kill him anyway.

The spell ultimately reverts the world to the moments before the Death Valley bomb dropped. As a result, the real young Alicia is never killed; instead, suddenly free from magical influence drawing her to the Valley, she tells her family she wants to go home. The spell bond between Jason and Etrigan has returned to normal, with Jason back in corporeal form on Earth and Etrigan in Hell. Concerned that fallout from the incident remains, Jason and Xanadu decide to stick together for the time being. Meanwhile, in the power vacuum following the death of Lucifer and Belial, the realm of Hell seemingly has a new King... the demon Etrigan!
