Flash regrets that he's going to be late again for a date with Iris again and tries to quickly apprehend the Mirror Master, who's been smuggling explosive out of the United States lately. While trying to catch him, he realizes it was just a hologram and crashes into the warehouse. Mirror Master tells Barry how everything appears as it is only because of light reflecting from matter and reflections have power.
As he tries to get out of Scudder's trap by vibrating, Barry instead gets trapped inside and has to fight his own dark reflection. Remembering Scudder's words however, he realizes what he's fighting himself if he's nothing more than a speedster with no humanity. He figures out the way to escape by pushing against his reflection, which leaves Scudder seething. Before he can use his Mirror Gun on him however, he is subdued.
Later, Barry arrives at the restaurant he was supposed to go to for a date with Iris but realizes he is again late, which caused their reservation to be cancelled. He however reveals that he had planned an alternative just in case it happens, by having a picnic instead, to which she agrees.

Synopsis for "Ghosts of the Speed Force"
Barry experiences a nightmare in which a voice calling to him says it's coming for him. He realizes he slept past his alarm time and had received three calls from Iris. Calling her back, he apologizes and explains he had a nightmare, leading her to state that it might be due to the stress of doing too much work and he needs to stop in order to finish what's in front of him first. She also reminds him to not be late for the fundraiser in the night as it's very important.
Barry feels bad for using his power for reaching his office in time and experiences something similar to his nightmare while running. Meanwhile at Fort Kilinworth army base, an old janitor is attacked by a crazed speedster who also causes destruction to the base. Barry learns of this and has Batman check out the video footage of the base, since he's the only one who has access. He tells him that he feels as if the speed force is sick. The two discover that the speedster who attacked the base was possessed and had passed it on to the janitor.
As the janitor runs toward a group of girls, she passes the possession to one of them. Barry arrives there and promises to help her, though she tells him about how speedsters join the speed force after death and questions if they can return. She chides him for so easily deciding to approach her ad states he is the perfect vessel for the speed force. As she chases after her, she states that their merger will make her a god and she will acquire all he has.
As the girl utters the name Iris, Barry remembers her saying earlier he needs to stop and finish to job ahead of him. as he stops and trips the girl, she is freed from the possession. Barry arrives in time for the fundraiser and ignores a call from Batman, wanting to focus on Iris instead. They find out that Bruce Wayne is a guest for the fundraiser. as the two privately talk, Barry gets told by Bruce to pick up his phone, stating he might know what's happened to the speed force.
