Synopsis for "Lightning in a Bottle, Part Four: Fast in the Life Lane"
The Griffin successfully halts Luke Thatcher's attack on William Slout's yacht party, however at the cost of Thacher's life. He is heralded as a hero by the citizens of Keystone City and accepts a $100,000 reward check from Slout for his actions.
However, not everyone is excited about the Griffin. Jay Garrick strongly disagrees with his methods and urges Bart Allen to claim the mantle of the Flash and show the city a true hero.
Griff flaunts his new status, taking an unenthusiastic Bart to a hot nightclub in his new sportscar. At the club, Bart is spied by Valerie Perez, who had also been dragged there by some friends. Griff brings some girls home, but Bart decides to go to bed. Griff notices that his right hand has aged incredibly. Shocked, he sends the girls away.
At S.T.A.R. Labs, Tina McGee announces to Bart that her tests indicate that he has become the embodiment of the Speed Force. He also learns that Valerie has been fired for her connection to Manfred Mota. He speeds down to talk to her, assuring her that he had only been at the nightclub because of Griff and that their relationship was not in jeopardy.
Jay's attempt at halting a high speed car chase is interrupted by the Griffin, who nearly kills the suspects in the process. During their ensuing argument, Jay notices that Griff's hair has gone completely grey.
Bart visits Griff at his new apartment to find that his former roommate has shaved his head. They begin to argue, and Griff pushes Bart out the window. During the fall down, Bart changes into his Flash costume and speeds back up the side of the building.
Valerie answers her door, expecting Bart. However, it is none other than her father, Manfred Mota.
