Notes

  • This episode is the fourth part of the Armageddon event.
  • The origin of the Armageddon Timeline is revealed:
    • Eobard Thawne used the Negative Still Force to alter the timeline and cause Barry's madness. Then, he ran back in time to steal Barry's life: he was hit by the lightning, which originally turned Barry Allen into Flash, becoming a conduit of the Speed Force as the Flash as well as Iris West's fiancee and the leader of Team Flash.
    • Later, he turned the Barry Allen of this timeline into the Reverse-Flash.
    • In the end, Thawne ran again back in time and murdered Barry as a child so that the original Barry would die in the new timeline.
  • Many events of the Armageddon Timeline are mentioned or implied:
    • Ryan Wilder married Sophie Moore and is still the leader of the Bat-Team;
    • Frost and Chillblaine are married;
    • Cecile Horton once again wields the Medusa Mask to boost her psychic powers but she's not possessed by the Psycho Pirate;[1]
    • Ryan Choi never had a family[2] in this timeline and succeeded Ray Palmer as the Atom;
    • Damien Darhk never died in this timeline[3] so he never allied himself with Mallus that is presumably still imprisoned in his dark dimension. However, a future version of Nora Darhk still traveled to the past and died in unknown circumstances;
    • Cisco Ramon became the head of A.R.G.U.S.;
    • Reverse-Flash/Barry Allen allied himself with Damien Darhk and eventually killed Cisco Ramon and the Legends;
    • A new version of the Legion of Doom was reformed in the altered timeline;
    • Harvey Dent became Two-Face and a Batwoman villain in this timeline.
  • Despero's prophecy is fulfilled as Reverse-Flash/Barry Allen causes the Armageddon in order to run back in time and undo Thawne's reality changes.
    • However, Barry restores the original timeline of Earth-Prime and erases the Armageddon from the future.

Trivia

  • The Batwoman theme is played.During Barry's fight against Batwoman.
  • Alex Danvers marrying Kelly Olsen was originally shown in the Supergirl series finale, "Kara".
  • Ryan Wilder mentions the "lady in red" who is obviously the Armageddon counterpart of Red Death/Ryan Wilder.
  • Before running back in time to restore the timeline, as Barry faces Iris West and told her he loved her, the woman stops Thawne from chasing him and tells him to go before she changes her mind.
  • Damien Darhk mentions Barry restoring the universe with love, referencing his Multiversal role as the Paragon of Love.[2]
