- This episode is the first part of the Invasion! crossover with Arrow, Supergirl and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
- This episode takes place a few days after the events of "Killer Frost".
- Supergirl's Earth designation is revealed to be Earth-38.
- The content of Future Barry's message from the DC's Legends of Tomorrow episode, "Shogun", is revealed in this episode.
- However, the real meaning of Barry's words will only be revealed in "Cause and Effect".
- This version of Barry will be eventually erased and replaced as a consequence of present Barry's journey to the future in "The Once and Future Flash".
- The newspaper from the 2024 Future is changed as a consequence of the creation of the Post-Flashpoint Timeline.
- Star City is still known as Starling City in this timeline.
