    • The title of this episode is a pun on the movie, Licence to Kill;
    • "January Galore" is a pun on Pussy Galore;
    • Remington Meister is himself a mashup of many James Bond villains, including Auric Goldfinger;
    • Barry and Ralph respectively introduces as "Allen. Barry Allen." and "Dibny. Ralph Dibny." like James Bond usually does;
    • The Ring of Fire is a nod to the GoldenEye weapon;
    • After capturing Barry and Ralph, Meister states, "I expect you to die!", which is a quote from the movie Goldfinger as it is also noted by Ralph;
