You look so young. And I could kill you right now so easy. What I wouldn't have given... all those times before to have you like this. So... helpless. But fate... fate's tricky, isn't it? I come here to destroy you... And then to get home, I have to be the one who creates you. But I will say... it's been an education. Watching you grow up all these years. Science fairs and soccer games. No hint, no sign, no trace of the man you will be one day, for whom I have nothing but hate. And to be clear, nothing is forgiven. There will be a reckoning. I promise you, Barry Allen, that you will die.

Notes
- The newspaper from the future is changed from its latest appearance which implies that the events were altered some time before the events of this episode. It has never really explained why they changed but it's vaguely implied that Barry's time travel in "Out of Time" is responsible for the time changes.
- In the altered future, Barry is helped by Green Arrow, Hawkgirl and Atom against the Reverse-Flash during the Crisis of 2024.
Trivia
- In the comic preview of the episode, Gideon states that "Barry will be a founding member of the Justice..." in the future[1] but she doesn't complete the sentence. It's obviously a reference to the Justice League.
- Barry becoming a founding member of the League will be shown in the DC's Legends of Tomorrow episode, "Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Five";
- In the future, he'll be shown as a leading member of the League for the first time in Earth-Prime #6.
- Eddie wonders about the possibility of Iris becoming Iris Thawne after their wedding. An alternate version of Iris from a timeline where Eddie never died and she actually married him, will be eventually shown in The Flash series finale, "A New World, Part Four".
