The Flash is a 2023 superhero film directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Christina Hodson, and produced by DC Films. Drawing inspiration from the comic "Flashpoint", the movie follows the eponymous hero's excursions through a divergent reality created when he traveled back in time to prevent his mother's murder.

Beginning development in 2014, the film went through several writers and directors before finally beginning pre-production in 2020. It explores the multiverse and features appearances by several characters from other DC media, most notably Michael Keaton as Batman. As a result of wider DC plans changing, the film was reshot and altered in post-production several times.

The Flash was released to mixed reviews from critics, who praised its action and performances, but heavily criticized its story and visual effects. It was a box-office bomb, most likely due to numerous factors including its marketing, lead actor Ezra Miller's controversial legal troubles, and the then-recent announcement of the DC Extended Universe's impending reboot into the DC Universe.
