Synopsis for "The Race to the End of the Universe!"
Two villains who appear to be the interplanetary gamblers Rokk and Sorban hold the Justice League hostage and force Superman and Flash to run a race, with the loser's home city to be destroyed.
Notes
- This issue is reprinted in Limited Collectors' Edition #C-48 and Superman vs. the Flash.
- Martian Manhunter is shown having the ability to assume the form of Superman, being able to become immune to fire, but also acquires the vulnerability to kryptonite of the Man of Steel; a exposure to Gold kryptonite, however, causes J'onn to lose this ability permanently.
- Martian Manhunter is also shown having the ability to transmute the Gold K in lead with his "Martian science"; No device is shown, however.
- the distance of the race is 40,000 light years: Earth to the end of the Milky Way Galaxy and back. The Flash temporarily is endowed by Rokk (Kadabra disguised) with the abilities of walk in the space and survive to the vacuum in order to run.
- The real Rokk and Sorban appeared in World's Finest Vol 1 150.
