Synopsis for "The Powerless Power Ring!"

Hal Jordan makes a campfire in the wilderness and prepares chili following Oliver's recipe, adding some canned mushrooms. After the diner, he recharges his ring, but he sees a mysterious flash of yellow light in the sky, almost like an aurora borealis. Later that night, Hal is awaken by an approaching black bear. He tries using the ring to take the animal away, but his ring misses the target, and he has no other choise than elevating himself until the bear walks away. Alone in the forest again, Green Lantern tests his ring and tries to uproot a tree, but he can't control the beam and shatters the tree to splinters, and the surge of energy makes him feel dizzy. He then hears a woman crying for help about to be caught in a rockslide. Not trusting his ring, Green Lantern is forced to climb the mountain to rescue her. But a second slide makes him lose his grip and fall. Mid air, Green Lantern manages to use his ring and save the girl. Back on the ground, he prepares again a dish of chili to share with her, but the girl warns him about the canned mushrooms, saying there are reported cases of people becoming dizzy and unable to operate vehicles, and Green Lantern realizes what was affecting his ring.
