Synopsis for "Nature vs. Nurture"

Pierced by fragments of Barry Allen's gravestone, Flash lies helplessly on the ground of Central City's cemetery. Over him towers Cobalt Blue who just revealed that his face looks identical to that of Barry Allen.

Wally needs to buy himself some time, so he listens to the stunning life story of Malcolm Thawne. His "father" was able to heal people with a blue light emitting out of his hands, but he used that power to rip-off his patients. And he also used his lovely little son to get in contact with his victims.

When he was a teenager, Malcolm found out that he was adopted. He knew he was born in Fallville and went there to ask Dr. Gilmore about his real parents. Gilmore revealed that one night he had two pregnant wifes at his practice and while the Thawnes lost their baby due to his mistake, Nora Allen delivered healthy twins. Gilmore switched two babies and, thus, Malcolm became part of a "crook family". Teeange Malcolm was furious after hearing that his life was ruined by chance and killed Dr. Gilmore with his bare hands.

Thawne became obsessed with his twin brother and he started to stalk Barry Allen. Jealousy grew even more as Barry became the Flash and so Malcolm seeked power for himself. And the Thawne grandmother was able to give him this power as she gladly teached him the magic of the blue flame. The flame was powered by Malcolm's passion and his passion was so great that it had to be placed inside a blue gem. His grandmother also gave Malcolm a mysterious prophecy on his way. According to her he would "consume" two Flashes before claiming the life of Barry Allen.

Cobalt Blue's first attack on Barry and Kid Flash failed, but now he thinks he succeeded. But Wally used the time when Malcolm was telling his origin to regain strength. His counter-attack is swift and Wally defeats Cobalt Blue by taking away his blue gem. Malcolm is in disbelief because of the prophecy, but Wally does not believe in magic or such things.

Somewhere else, Linda Park sits in an empty room and speaks to her captor whom she cannot see. The captor tells Linda that Wally West not only has forgotten everything about her, but she also was brought into a time where Wally West wasn't even born yet...
