Synopsis for "Bad Moon Rising, Part Six"

Jai believes that if he can help Eclipso overcome his insecurity issues he may back down from his evil plans. He uses his powers to shatter open the "cavern" of Eclipso's memories and points them at Eclipso's face in the sky, literally forcing him to confront his innermost thoughts. He tries to crush Jai with tendrils of shadow but Jai is able to hold him off. F8-3-1459 tells Eclipso that, despite his resentment of Darkseid, he is doing exactly what his surrogate father would want him to do. He and Jai both try to empathise with Eclipso, sharing their own experiences of dealing with expectations and feeling overshadowed by a father or mentor figure, while just wanting to make him proud. They tell Eclipso that Darkseid doesn't have to define who he is, that he can love someone but choose to be different than them, and that all that matters is that he is proud of himself. Shade also counsels Eclipso that rage is a product of fear, and F8-3-1459 tells him he doesn't need to be afraid anymore. Eclipso says that he must think and teleports them back to where they came from.

On the moon, Wally generates as many shards as he can. He notes that some of the clones are the products of "broken timelines" and "twisted", but that it doesn't matter as he expects them all to die in this final battle. Irey appears, having generated her own chronosphere to access the accelerated time. He tries to tell her to leave but she refuses. She yells at him that she is scared about her growing power and that they all need him, then tearfully tells him not to send her away so he can die alone. After a moment's silence, Wally reveals to Irey that he believes he is not the original Flash, just another shard. He tells her that he knows she needs him, but he's been fighting for so long he doesn't know how to comfort her anymore.

Jai and F8-3-1459 find themselves back on the Linear Bureau station, but see that it is in ruins. Inspector Pilgrim, now with a prosthetic leg and his arm in a sling, approaches them. F8-3-1459 asks what happened and Jai notices the chart of timelines, which now shows all the alternate timelines converging and then ending in a dead stop. Pilgrim tells them that when they taught Eclipso to let go of his fear and hatred, he decided to act out of love for Darkseid rather than resentment. Foxy did not realise that Eclipso was still evil despite this change in attitude and stopped resisting him. Eclipso was able to reshape Earth into a monument to Darkseid, still moving the moon to create a permanent eclipse. He then ascended to full godlike power and snuffed out the stars. Pilgrim tells them that the end has begun.

On the moon, the younger Inspector Pilgrim tells Wally that something has changed: the enemy is rapidly multiplying and growing in power and eight vents have suddenly appeared, meaning in an hour or so he will be able to fly the moon anywhere he wants. He tells them that the end has begun. Wally admits that he doesn't know what to do and Irey hugs him, telling him that's a good start.

Suddenly Jai and F8-3-1459 teleport in. They awkwardly start to explain what happened, but then Eclipso's voice calls out from his army. He tells them that he seeks parley, as he has overcome rage and hate. Wally excitedly asks if this means the war is over and Eclipso replies that it is, because they have been defeated. He is now the destroyer of universes and the Flashes cannot resist. Wally protests that he said there was no more rage and Eclipso says that is right: he will end reality not in a fit of pique, but because it is his right and legacy. The vortex resolves into Eclipso's new form, blazing with Foxy's power and towering over them. Wally turns to his clone and yells "What did you do?!"
