Synopsis for "Buyer Beware"

The Rubbles has installed a brand new television and are watching the first ever broadcast. Fred pops over to owe Barney a rock and is frightened, at first, by the TV for a "wall demon" and almost destroy it. So Fred joins in the Rubbles to watch the TV and are entice by a promotion for the brand new Bedrock Mall, where anyone can buy a new lifestyle that is defined by the accruing of items known as "crap."

Soon everyone is down at the Bedrock Mall buying lots of "crap". The Flintstones buys a automatic dishwasher (a octopus) and a weed whacker "Powergoat 300" (a goat strapped to a handle). Pebbles also hangs out in a record store.

The Flintstones attend the First Church of Animism, where they worship a flamingo named Morp who help guiding humans through the seasons and to water sources. The head priest, Reverend Tom, announce that he went to the mall and bought a flamingo record player to allow his attendees to hear Morp's voice. Unfortunately this only cause everyone to stop taking Morp seriously.

At the veterans' club, Fred tells Barney that he's having trouble staying solvent while Wilma seems to love buying "crap" and he doesn't want to disappoint her. A seedy man overhears Fred's money problems and offer Fred and Barney sell his Shamrock Vitamins door-to-door for extra scratch.

Back at the rechristened "Reformed" Church of Animism, Reverend Tom has a new animal for worship: a adorable little elephant named Peaches. Everyone instantly loves Peaches, and loving the Church again, until the Flintstones' trip to the mall where Wilma sees that there are several Peaches for sale, as vacuum cleaners. The Reverend Tom tries to explain to his irate worshipers that he was in a pinch and that he was giving them a semblance of meaning whether or not what form a god takes. Dissatisfied, the worshipers walks out on the Church.

That night, Reverend Tom and another priest are trying to think up a new animal to worship, but they are all being used as appliances or construction equipment. That's when Reverend Tom holds up a blank sheet of paper and declaring to worship this. On the next attendance, Reverend Tom shows his worshipers the invisible god. When one worshiper ask for the name of the god, Reverend Tom admits that he hadn't gotten that far yet. But he decide to name their god "Gerald" for now.

Meanwhile, Fred is not doing well selling his vitamin pills except his encounter with a drug addict. Barney on the other hand is using his son Bamm-Bamm's unusual strength to sell vitamins with great success. Later, Barney and Fred settle up with the vitamin supplier, and after deductions he gives Fred one pebble (pointing out that Fred had sold only one bottle). Fred goes into tantrum by breaking the supplier's desk and walking out with Barney following after him. Fred despairs and confides to Barney that he doesn't want to appear inadequate in front of Wilma.

That evening, Fred tells Wilma that he can't afford to keep their "crap", and she tells him it's okay because the only thing that makes her happy is being with someone who loves her. Wilma states that they don't need anything that makes Fred's life harder.

Fred returns all of their purchase, but can only get store credit on the damaged octopus. So he selects a purple and discontinued dinosaur.
