Synopsis for "The Wireless Ones"

Green Lantern Hal Jordan's Power Ring awakens him, passed out in the tub at a family get together. He wanders downstairs at his uncle Titus' home to find all of his adult family members passed out. The youth show him that there is a force field surrounding the house and outside, everyone appears frozen in time. When they open the back door, it leads to Kwyzz. In the study, Hal's nieces Helen and Jane are tending to Zzyptzz, a radio-based entity who claims that he is being hunted and only the Green Lantern can save him.

Hal is cautious and wants to investigate before diving into action but his nephew Harold is eager to test out his superhero persona Air Wave. Some radio beings materialize in the household and GL briefly dissipates them with a tuning fork but they manage to infiltrate his brain by resonating on its frequency, causing an epileptic seizure.

Air Wave uses his powers to force the radio beings far away and Zzyptzz reveals his true intentions as a lawless conqueror who takes over Air Wave's mind and uses it to broadcast mind control messages across electronic devices worldwide. He wants to stop electronic communications from Earth interfering with his electromagnetic existence and does not care for the havoc that will cause for human society.

The elder Jordan family members are resuscitated and Zzyptzz attempts to mind control them into attacking their superhero loved one. He responds to the encroaching horde by mentioning several of their long-term in-fights and petty feuds; this causes the Jordans' brains to become overloaded with emotional noise that drives out Zzyptzz from their brains. Air Wave uses the distraction to force Zzyptzz to let go of the radio interference he has been broadcasting to Hal's ring and the two heroes team up to build a radio transmitter that broadcasts Zzyptzz across several satellites, bouncing high in Earth's atmosphere.

A distress call to the Guardians causes them to dispatch Radio Lantern Krkkzz Zappl. He promises to look into the merit of Zzyptzz's noise pollution complaint and quickly constructs a prison with his Power Ring to drag the criminal back to their realm.

Hal attempts to explain to the other adults why they have no memory of the previous night and their phones have been wiped clean and he comes up with a cover story that gives them minimal information and makes Harold look like a hero. In the dining room, he learns that the family black sheep Doug Jordan is the one who allowed Zzyptzz access to their home and he apprehends him.
