Notes

  • This story takes place not long after the events of DCU: Rebirth #1.
  • The events of this issue reveal that parts of John Constantine's Pre-Flashpoint history were restored as a consequence of the Rebirth:
    • Chas Chandler, who died around the mid-2000s during the New 52, is now depicted as having always been alive in this altered continuity;
    • The "existence" of Golden Boy— John's unborn twin brother— has also been reinstated into continuity.
  • From the solicit: "John Constantine's lost weekend in New York City was fun, but London's where his heart is—only a pissed-off demon and a curse on his soul stand in his way. Even Constantine's questionable ethics are pushed to the limit when he puts eight million souls on the line to get what he wants…."
  • This issue is reprinted in The Hellblazer: The Poison Truth.

Trivia

  • Constantine's London curse was a recurring theme throughout the New 52 continuity. Its effects were originally shown in Constantine #3.
  • The license plate of Chas' taxi is SWPTHG-37, which is a reference to Constantine's first appearance in Swamp Thing (Volume 2) #37.
  • The "Antony Gormless" mentioned by the tourist is a reference to Sir Antony Mark David Gormley, a British sculptor.
