Every choice we're faced with, every decision we make, no matter how simple and black-and-white it may seem, ... take my word for it -- someone, somewhere out there, is always going to get the short end of the stick. And it's not the things we do, it's the things we don't do, that keep us awake at night.
The Hellblazer #1 is an issue of the series The Hellblazer (Volume 1) with a cover date of October, 2016. It was published on August 24, 2016.

Notes
- Constantine's story continues from The Hellblazer: Rebirth #1.
- As in The Hellblazer: Rebirth, this story shows that the Pre-Flashpoint events involving Swamp Thing's non consensual use of Constantine's body to have sex with his wife Abby (and birth their daughter, Tefé) and John's "hidden" tattoo also occurred in the Rebirth timeline of Prime Earth.
- The story first hints that the events of Hellblazer's The Fear Machine storyline also occurred in the new timeline.
- From the solicit: " "The Poison Truth" part one! London may have recovered from Constantine's return, but he hasn't. Mercury hasn't forgiven him, but she won't leave him alone, and Swamp Thing is calling in a favor. And all the while, bigger things are brewing..."
- This issue is reprinted in The Hellblazer: The Poison Truth.
Trivia
- John recalls Alec and Abby parting ways to rule over their Parliaments in Swamp Thing (Volume 5) #18.
- The events remembered by Swamp Thing and Constantine were originally shown in Swamp Thing (Volume 2) #76–77 and Hellblazer #9–10.
- The narrator saying that Hitler promised to "make Germany great again" is a pun on the Republicans' Make America Great Again (MAGA) slogan.
- A similar parody (made by Neron) was already done in Constantine: The Hellblazer #10.
- Triffids are fictional, venomous, mobile plants introduced in the novel The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham.
- Percy Thrower was a well-known British Gardener and a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
- Paul Daniels was an English magician and television performer who died in March, 2016.
- Ronnie Corbett was an English stand-up comedian and a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. He also died in March, 2016.
