The League of Supermen was a team from a possible future inspired by the apparent death of Superman at the hands of Gog. The team was led by a reformed Doomsday.
History
Following the invasion of Gog on Earth and the defeat of Superman, a group of super-heroes worked together to defeat the invaders. This war lasted a hundred years. As Gog had already achieved his primary goal of eliminating Superman, he had no reason to continue at that point.
