Christine rings her grandmother, who thought she was dead. Christine hasn't talked to her family since the fall of Skywatch. She has to cut the call short, because she's stealing a blimp from a splinter sect of the Cult of the Red Hand. She kills them all except the leader, Arlo Scheer, who she lets go after using her powers to see his life spread out before her eyes.

Jackson King and Jon Farmer have recovered Lost Angel from his last battle, having successfully uploaded the god of Los Angeles into his mind. they return to The Crown, where King enters Lost Angel's dreams, and gives him a vision of his ex-girlfriend, who explains that they've split up, and invites him to a club, with Union on the door. Union demands that he gives up the halo over his head before going in.

In The Crown, Farmer, Condition Red and Union are hanging out, waiting for the next move. Condition Red banters with the other two, while Union looks at a porn magazine, but not for the obvious reason. After destroying the magazine, Farmer points out that every member of the Monarchy is unique, there is nobody exactly like them in reality. While in Texas, Addie Vochs decides to go with Professor Q and join the team.

In Lost Angel's mindscape, the image of his girlfriend leads him to a door, and invites him through. As he passes through the portal, she turns into King, who takes a moment to appreciate his work, when he's blindsided and decapitated by the god he's just awoke!
