Synopsis for "The Unseen Familiar!"

After the death of his rich uncle, a student of the mystic arts hears the claim of a wizard's “familiar” that the entity is responsible for the man's death, but the Phantom Stranger shows up to reveal the truth. As it turns out, the rich uncle's secretary is behind the hoax to seize the man's fortune through his nephew.

Synopsis for "Time to Kill!"

Throughout his life scientist Jed Bruno has been bested by his rival Andrew Seldin, who beat him to building the world's fastest monorail, the first space station and wireless transmission of energy. Now Bruno is working on a time machine, but is shocked to hear a radio report that Seldin has completed one and will demonstrate it in one month. He resolves to steal Seldin's plans and breaks into his laboratory but is unable to open the safe. Instead he takes the time machine and travels into the future to the public demonstration then as the triumphant inventor is introduced he shoots him dead from a distant rooftop. As he returns to the present his memories fade but Seldin enters the laboratory as the machine materialises and Bruno shoots him in a panic. He destroys the machine and, finding Seldin's plans in his pocket, uses them to complete his own device. At the public demonstration a month later, Bruno is introduced to the crowd--and is shot dead by his past self. As he dies he realises that Seldin has beaten him again.

Synopsis for "The Stars Screamed Danger!"

Jerry Cahill and his brother Jay co-own a carnival park. Their star attraction is the fortune teller Vasti. Vasti warns them that great spirits and death haunt the park. There are several instances where equipment behaves strangely and people claim to see ghosts attacking them. The Phantom Stranger arrives and learns that Jay Cahill, desiring to keep the business for himself, had hired Vasti to stage these disruptions so that the park would do poorly, thus forcing Jerry to sell his share to him. The Stranger exposes the scheme and Jay Cahill and Vasti are taken to jail.
