When [[Terrence Thirteen (New Earth)|Dr. 13]] and [[Marie Leeds-Thirteen (New Earth)|Marie Leeds]] visit their friends Harry and Rosemary in [[San Francisco]] during the Chinese New Year, they find that their friends have been killed. When the [[Phantom Stranger (New Earth)|Phantom Stranger]] appears, he suggests that it is the curse of Ching Hi Fu. The Phantom Stranger works to capture the culprit, a man worshiping Ching Hi Fu, who has been trying to destroy modern buildings which he believes are an effrontery to his Chinese heritage. Although the Phantom Stranger manages to capture the man, Dr. 13 and he fail to learn how he managed to cause the destruction he was responsible for.

Synopsis for "When Ghosts Walk"

This story is reprinted from The Phantom Stranger #1.

When three men die in a plane crash, their spirits seem to be haunting those they left behind, but the Phantom Stranger reveals that the ghostly appearances are really the work of an embezzler attempting to cover his tracks.

Synopsis for "Defeat the Dragon Curse... or Die!"

When Dr. 13 and Marie Leeds visit their friends Harry and Rosemary in San Francisco during the Chinese New Year, they find that their friends have been killed. When the Phantom Stranger appears, he suggests that it is the curse of Ching Hi Fu. The Phantom Stranger works to capture the culprit, a man worshiping Ching Hi Fu, who has been trying to destroy modern buildings which he believes are an effrontery to his Chinese heritage.
